Why isn't my video showing up in search?
If your video has been uploaded in the past few hours, please be patient. After uploading a video, it is checked for inappropriate content before making it live on the website. Alternatively, if your video is showing under 'My Videos section of your personal homepage, but is not showing in search results, check if the spelling you have typed is exactly the same as that of the video. If the problem is still unresolved, shoot an Email to admin.

How do videos get featured?
Members rate videos they like, and we review highly-rated and recent videos for consideration in the "Featured Videos" section of the home page and the featured videos on the "Categories" page.

How do I find my uploaded videos?
In your personal homepage, you have a link to 'Videos', wherein all the videos you have uploaded are placed under the 'My videos section.

Why isn't my video showing up in search?
Depending on site traffic, changes to video information can take a few hours or more to show up after they've been uploaded, changed, or removed. To find videos that were recently uploaded, you may have to wait a while before they are approved for public display.
Also if your video is a duplicate, it will not be approved.

How do I find cool videos to watch?
There are lots of ways to find cool videos to watch. Here are four to start with:

If you know what you're looking for, you can type keywords into the Search box at the top of every page.
You could also use the 'User Tags' tab at the bottom of the Campus TV Page to search for cool stuff.
Click on the Videos tab to browse the site, or the Categories Tab to find videos in a more specific area.
You can subscribe to a channel you like so that you're notified whenever it is updated with new videos

Watching, Saving and Sharing Videos

The video won't play—what's wrong?
That particular video could have been deleted upon reports of offensive content, etc. If you have uploaded that video, and it doesn't appear or play, then contact us.

Can I download videos to watch later?
No. You cannot download videos for offline use. Atleast not at this point of time.

How do I share videos?
You could email the URL to friends via the ' Share this URL' link under each video while it is being played. You could also create a channel and pass the channel link to Friends.

Subscriptions

How do I subscribe to someone's videos?
You could subscribe to one's videos by subscribing to his channel.

How do I unsubscribe from someone's videos or favorites?
You could do this from your personal homepage from under the video link.

General Upload Questions

Do I have to sign up to upload videos?
Yes. You will need to sign in to upload your videos.

How do I upload a video?
Click on the Upload Video link on the top of the Page. You could also do this using the Videos link in your personal homepage. Either way, you will need to login first to upload.

What is an .flv file?
An .flv file is a Flash file format. This format is used for online video as it packs in quality video in an ultra compact size.

What video file formats can I upload and what's the best format for optimum quality?
The following formats are accepted: wmv,avi,mov,mpeg,mpg,asf,mp4,dat and flv. An mpeg format or a .mov format is recommended for best quality.

How long/large can my video be?
100MB

How long will my video take to upload?
The upload time depends on various factors like the size and length of your file, but most importantly it depends on the speed of your broadband or internet connection.

How long does it take to process a video after it's been uploaded?
It could take a couple of hours before your video appears on the website. This is because we need to check that the video adheres to our terms and policy. It could sometimes take longer depending on the number of videos in queue waiting to be uploaded.

How long are my videos available on Bharatstudent?
Your videos are available on Bharatstudent.com as long you as you are a registered member.

Is there a limit to how many videos I can upload?
No. there is no limit to the number of videos you wish to upload. Infact, we encourage our users to upload and share as many videos as they like.

My upload has been running a long time and hasn't completed. What should I do?
Could be your internet connection is slow, or the file is too big. Either way, you could wait for some more time, or you could try later.

Editing Video Information
Can I change the default thumbnail for my video?
At the moment, there is no way to change the thumbnail of the video. Upon many user's requests, we have started working on this possibility, and hopefully we will be enabling this feature soon.

How do I remove one of my videos?
You could do this from the Videos link on your Personal homepage. You will need to be logged in.

How do I change or add to the information I entered about my video?
You could do this from the Videos link on your Personal homepage. Click on the edit button beside the video you wish to edit, and click submit.

Making and Promoting Your Videos

How do I make a video?
You'll need to have a device that can capture digital movies—this could be a camcorder, digital camera, or even your cell phone! You copy the movies to your computer, and then you can either upload them as-is or edit them with movie editing software such as Adobe Premiere, iMovie, etc.

Do I have to have a camcorder to make videos?
No. While camcorders are a great way to make videos, they aren't the only one. You can make videos with a digital camera or even some cellphones.

How do I put videos from my mobile device onto Bharatstudent?
If your phone has video capabilities, you could record the video, transfer it to your computer from where you could then upload to Bharatstudent.com

How do I tell my friends I have a new video?
You could share your video to friends by clicking on 'Share this Video' below the video you want to share. Alternatively you could send your channel link to them. The best and most efficient way is to link to it in your blogs.

What are tags? How do I add them?
Tags are keywords that describe videos. For example, a funny video might be tagged with "funny," "dog," and "swimming." Users who enjoy watching dogs and swimming can then search for any of those terms and that video will show up in their search results. Tags help you label videos you upload so that other people can find them more easily.

What should I put in my video description?

Make your description clear and specific. This will help your video should stand out from the crowd. Categorize correctly, because the category into which you place your video is part of its description as well. People are more likely to rate your video highly and watch it more frequently if it's placed in a relevant category.
